₹49 crore for 14 Lakes, ₹129 crore for SWM

 ₹291 crore action plan approved

 Bengaluru: The government has approved the action plans of the 15th Finance Commission for the year 2022-23 with a grant of ₹291 crore released by the previous BJP government.

 Funds were released on May 25, 2023 for water supply, sanitation, lake rejuvenation and solid waste management in BBMP. Accordingly, in the meeting held under the chairmanship of the Chief Commissioner of BBMP on September 6, an action plan was formulated for the required works.

 A proposal for an action plan was submitted to the government. On December 11, the government gave conditional approval to the list of 'micro level action plan' works.

 Technical approval should be obtained for the approved action plan works, packaged not less than ₹10 crore and tender called through e-procurement as per KTPP Act.

 It has been stipulated that an online software should be prepared and monthly progress uploaded for checking and monitoring the progress of implementation of the 'micro-level action plan' works.

 Development after Clearance of Encroachments: It has been clearly mentioned in the order sanctioning the action plan that the encroachments should be cleared before starting the revival and development works of the lakes.

 The village map of the lakes, like the survey map should mark the boundaries properly. It has been stipulated that the works should be started after clearing any encroachments.

Action plans; A total of ₹291 crore

 Lakes development works; A total of ₹49 crore

  •  Integrated Development of Madiwala Lake; ₹15 crore
  •  Kacharakanahalli lake balance and other development works; ₹4 crore
  •  Replacement of drain line, silt trap, wetland restoration in Garudacharpalya Lake-1, Shilavantana Lake, Mahadevpura Lake-1; ₹4 crore
  •  Other development works instead of sewer line in Kogilu Lake and Kattigenahalli Lake; ₹4 crore
  •  Wetland, inflow progress and other works at Lingadhiranahalli Lake-3; ₹2 crore
  •  Rejuvenation and replacement of sewer lines in Narseepur Lake-20, Narseepur Lake-26 and Veerasagar Lake; ₹4 crore
  •  Desilting and other works in Halasuru Lake; ₹9 crore
  •  Development of Yalahanka Lake; ₹4 crore
  •  Anjanapur lake development and progress works; ₹3 crore

 Drinking water works; A total of ₹40 crore

  •  Rejuvenation of borewells, new borewells, installation of boreholes for groundwater augmentation in BBMP 8 zones; ₹20 crore
  •  Drinking water supply under BBMP by summer 2024; ₹20 crore

 Water Board Works; A total of ₹73 crore

  •  Work to increase the capacity of Highgrounds Seva Reservoir by 5 MLD. Pumphouse, other works at Sagaipur, Pulakeshinagar; ₹30 crore
  •  Setting up of 10 MLD capacity STP in Rachenahalli Lake and Mahatma Gandhi Rural Energy and Development Corporation; ₹30 crore
  •  3 Drainage line from 24th Main in J.P. Nagar to 4th Main in Dollars Colony; ₹13 crore

Solid waste management; A total of ₹129 crore

  •  Amount due to KPCL for setting up of fuel plant; ₹30 crore
  •  Setting up of 1 MLD Effluent Treatment Plant at Mittiganahalli/ Kannur; ₹75 crore
  •  Creation of buffer zone at landfill sites as per Central Pollution Control Board guidelines; ₹3 crore
  •  Construction of drainage and Leachate management around Bellahalli landfill site; ₹21 crore
