Bengaluru: The Bangalore Development Authority intends to create six new layouts, for which it has identified about five thousand acres of land around the proposed Peripheral Ring Road-2.
The BDA has already decided to construct Peripheral Ring Road-2 (PRR-2) from Hosur Road to Bannerghatta Road, Kanakapura Road to Mysore Road. Land has been identified in the villages surrounding this road. Commencement notices are also being issued to some farmers, asking them to provide land records.
The Nadaprabhu Kempegowda layout has been constructed from Mysore Road to Magadi Road, and new layouts are planned to be constructed in the villages from Mysore Road to Hosur Road.
Since the villages adjacent to Kanakapura Road and Bannerghatta Road have good connectivity, most of the land has been identified in the villages there. Since priority has been given to villages adjacent to PRR-2, it is said that connectivity roads and commercial activities will also get more importance.
Most of the development activities have also taken place in the villages surrounding Kanakapura Road, Bannerghatta Road, and Hosur Road. Apart from all of them, the BDA has identified about five thousand acres of land.
Survey numbers of 10 villages have also been identified for six new layouts, and in addition, government land, drains, and lakes are included in the total land area identified.
This is a preliminary notification for the acquisition of 854 acres of land for the proposed PRR-2 road, and the final notification will be issued soon. PRR-2 is intended to be built 100 meters wide, which is being reduced and used for residential or commercial purposes.
‘Land has been identified for the construction project of six residential areas. The process is still in its initial stages and preparations are being made for the preliminary notification. No decision has been made yet on how compensation for land acquisition should be given. The 60:40 ratio adopted in Shivaramakaranta residential area is likely to be followed,’ informed BDA officials.
