Measured increase in Rajakaluve encroachment

In the east there was still more Rajakaluve encroachment; BBMP, district administration not taking action

Bengaluru: The removal of encroachment in the Rajakaluve, which caused the pre-submergence, is not going on at the expected level. However, encroachment alone is increasing as measured. It has been revealed that more than 26 acres of Rajkaluve is encroached upon in Three Hobli of Bengaluru East Taluk.

Most of the areas in the eastern taluk of the city were submerged due to heavy rains last September. On that occasion, BBMP had said that it would vacate many types of encroachments. After a few days of encroachment clearance, everything cooled down. However, identifying the encroachment and documenting its extent was completed in January. According to the records of revenue departments, encroachment has been found in more than 90 cases in this taluk.

East Taluk Varthur, Bidrahalli, K.R. Revenue Department has registered new cases of Rajakaluve encroachment in Pura Hobli. Encroachments were found when the Rajakaluve were measured and surveyed as per revenue records. All these have been identified and all the processes have been completed and placed under the order of Tahsildar.

After the rains stopped and the water flow to the House and Layouts is decreased, the clearing operation of Rajakaluve encroachment slowed down. BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath has been giving deadlines since January that he will carry out the eviction operation once all the orders are received. But nothing is working.

Area unmarked in many places: It has been stated in the survey report that the 'Canal' has been encroached upon by the tenants in Survey number 112, 114. However, the area is not recorded. Similarly, Karimamma's Agrahara survey no. 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 22 are recorded as encroachment by tenants.

Survey no. 129/1 between 129 and 130 it is recorded that the building was constructed in the pit. Survey no. 34, 121, 122 only recorded that there is a road. Locals alleged that the surveyors gave in to the pressure of the influential and abandoned some encroachments.
