 Bengaluru: With the aim of increasing the 'green cover' in the city, it has been decided to develop Vrikshavana (Tree Park) and Miyawaki forests under the concept of 'Brand Bangalore'.

 Only native plants are planted in the groves. In this plants with medicinal properties are given more importance. It is planned to grow plants adapted to the city's climate, afforestation, and control air pollution. 

 Nine gardens under BBMP's Horticulture Department are being developed into groves by the Forest Department. The BBMP has decided to make the trees into 'themed parks' rather than limiting them to planting and nurturing them. Forests are developed based on Dhanvantara Vana, Rashivan, Aranya Ata, Tribal Forest.

 'Dhanvantari forest, which has medicinal plants, the environment of the tribal community, the trees and the forest environment for the children to play in the jungle model,' said Swamy, BBMP Deputy Conservator of Forest.

 BBMP has now constructed one Miyawaki Forest and two more Miyawaki Forests are being constructed. Development of new nurseries and nurseries is also being undertaken. He informed that the tender process is in the final stage and all these will be developed in another year.

'For tree census: need four more months'

 Swamy, Deputy Conservator of Forests, BBMP Forest Division, said that the work of enumeration of trees under BBMP is underway and will be completed in four months.

 Census has been completed in 10 wards and 2.5 lakh trees have been enumerated. He said that survey work is going on in the remaining wards.

 Tree Parks:  Two parks in Rampura Kere premises, Mahadevpur; Wildlife Conservation Center of Bannerghatta Biological Park, Bommanahalli; Two gardens at NTI Layout at Batarayanpur, Yalahanka; Singasandra AECS Layout, Bommanahalli; Three Parks in Bommanahalli Purnaprajna layout.

  1. ಪ್ರಚಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕೆಲಸ ಅಷ್ಟೇ. ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಇರುವ ಉದ್ಯಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ನೋಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ವೃಕ್ಷ ಸಂಪತ್ತು ವೃದ್ಧಿಸಿದರೆ ಮತ್ತು ಗಿಡ ನೆಡುವ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಯೋಜನೆಯನ್ನು ನಿರಂತರವಾಗಿ ಮುನ್ನಡೆಸ ಬೇಕು.
