BDA Commissioner Manivannan Directs Speedy Completion of Construction Works

State-of-the-Art Welcome Arches at 8 Roads of Bengaluru

Bengaluru: Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) Commissioner Manivannan has directed officials to construct state-of-the-art welcome arches on six National Highways and two State Highways connecting the city.

Presiding over a review meeting of various BDA projects on Wednesday, he stated that welcome arches must be built at the BDA boundaries. "Identify suitable locations and construct these arches keeping road expansion and future vision in mind. They should serve as an attractive landmark for those entering the city," he said.

Varthur and Bellandur Lake Development

Manivannan held discussions with local residents and IISc scientists regarding the desilting and development works of Varthur and Bellandur lakes. He announced that a dedicated website will be developed by the BDA to publish the progress of the rejuvenation project, financial expenditures, technical reports, and monthly status updates.

To monitor the progress of lake rejuvenation, status review meetings will be held every month, and comprehensive stakeholder meetings will be conducted once every two months. He also mentioned that a site inspection of both lakes will be conducted on the second Wednesday of April.

The BDA confirmed that bills for nine contractors related to the desilting work at Varthur Lake have been processed and paid. During the meeting, citizen representative Jagadish Reddy requested the disclosure of details regarding the volume of silt removed, the locations where desilting took place, and the disposal sites.

He further urged that damaged fencing around Bellandur and Varthur lakes be repaired immediately, and a re-survey be conducted to complete fencing in areas where it is currently missing.

Commissioner Manivannan assured that five entry points will be maintained around the lake perimeter for monitoring, maintenance, and emergency access. Additionally, existing inlet designs will be technically reviewed to prevent sewage, silt, and garbage from entering the lakes.

The meeting was attended by Prof. T.V. Ramachandra of IISc, and citizen representatives Zibi Jamal, Nithya Ramakrishnan, Elangovan, and Venkatesh.

10 Sports arenas and Market Upgrades

Manivannan instructed officials to immediately implement the plan to establish 10 sports arenas in BDA areas. He also directed the upgrading of BDA markets, including those in Indiranagar, K.R. Market, and Malleshwaram, and ordered the commencement of beautification work at the Hebbal Junction flyover.

He emphasized speeding up road construction in residential areas and the underpass works near Kanteerava Stadium. Member Engineer Shanta Rajanna was also present.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ನಗರ ಸಂಪರ್ಕಿಸುವ ಆರು ರಾಷ್ಟ್ರೀಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಎರಡು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಾಧುನಿಕ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಕಮಾನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸುವಂತೆ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದ ಆಯುಕ್ತ ಮಣಿವಣ್ಣನ್‌ ಅವರು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು.

ಬಿಡಿಎಯ ವಿವಿಧ ಯೋಜನೆಗಳ ಪರಿಶೀಲನಾ ಸಭೆಯನ್ನು ಬುಧವಾರ ನಡೆಸಿದ ಅವರು, ಬಿಡಿಎ ಗಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಕಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಬೇಕು. ಸೂಕ್ತ ಜಾಗವನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸಿ, ರಸ್ತೆ ವಿಸ್ತರಣೆ ಹಾಗೂ ದೂರದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದ ಕಮಾನನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಬೇಕು. ನಗರಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುವವರಿಗೆ ಇದೊಂದು ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಕೇಂದ್ರವನ್ನಾಗಿ ರೂಪಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ವರ್ತೂರು ಹಾಗೂ ಬೆಳ್ಳಂದೂರು ಕೆರೆ ಹೂಳು ಎತ್ತುವುದು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ಐಐಎಎಸ್‌ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳೊಂದಿಗೆ  ಮಣಿವಣ್ಣನ್ ಮಾತುಕತೆ ನಡೆಸಿದರು.

ವರ್ತೂರು ಮತ್ತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಂದೂರು ಕೆರೆಗಳ ಪುನಶ್ಚೇತನಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಯೋಜನೆಯ ಪ್ರಗತಿ, ಹಣಕಾಸಿನ ವೆಚ್ಚ, ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವರದಿಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಮಾಸಿಕ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಲು ಬಿಡಿಎ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕ ವೆಬ್‌ಸೈಟ್‌ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಪಡಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಮಣಿವಣ್ಣನ್‌ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ಕೆರೆ ಪುನಶ್ಚೇತನ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಪ್ರತಿ ತಿಂಗಳು ಸ್ಥಿತಿಗತಿ ಪರಿಶೀಲನಾ ಸಭೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಪ್ರತಿ ಎರಡು ತಿಂಗಳಿಗೊಮ್ಮೆ ಸಮಗ್ರ ಪಾಲುದಾರರ ಸಭೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ ಎರಡನೇ ಬುಧವಾರ ಎರಡೂ ಕೆರೆಗಳ ಸ್ಥಳ ಪರಿಶೀಲನೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ವರ್ತೂರು ಕೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೂಳೆತ್ತುವ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ ಒಂಬತ್ತು ಗುತ್ತಿಗೆದಾರರ ಬಿಲ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗೊಳಿಸಿ ಪಾವತಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದು ಬಿಡಿಎ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆ. ತೆಗೆದುಹಾಕಲಾದ ಹೂಳಿನ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ, ಹೂಳೆತ್ತಿದ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ವಿಲೇವಾರಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಸ್ಥಳಗಳ ವಿವರಗಳನ್ನು ಬಹಿರಂಗಪಡಿಸುವಂತೆ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿ ಜಗದೀಶ್‌ ರೆಡ್ಡಿ ಕೇಳಿದರು.

ಬೆಳ್ಳಂದೂರು ಹಾಗೂ ವರ್ತೂರು ಕೆರೆಯ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಹಾನಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಬೇಲಿಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ದುರಸ್ತಿ ಮಾಡಬೇಕು. ಬೇಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ ಭಾಗಗಳನ್ನು ಮರು ಸಮೀಕ್ಷೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ಬೇಲಿ ಹಾಕುವ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಆಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದರು.

ಮೇಲ್ವಿಚಾರಣೆ, ನಿರ್ವಹಣೆ ಮತ್ತು ತುರ್ತು ಪ್ರವೇಶಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೆರೆಯ ಸುತ್ತಳತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಐದು ಪ್ರವೇಶ ದ್ವಾರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು. ಕೆರೆಗೆ ಕೊಳಚೆ ನೀರು, ಹೂಳು ಮತ್ತು ಕಸ ಸೇರುವುದನ್ನು ತಡೆಯಲು ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಇರುವ ಒಳಹರಿವಿನ ವಿನ್ಯಾಸಗಳನ್ನು ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕವಾಗಿ ಮರುಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಲಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ಮಣಿವಣ್ಣನ್‌ ಭರವಸೆ ನೀಡಿದರು.

ಐಐಎಸ್ಸಿಯ ಪ್ರೊ. ಟಿ.ವಿ. ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರ, ನಾಗರಿಕ ಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳಾದ ಝಬಿ ಜಮಾಲ್‌, ನಿತ್ಯಾ ರಾಮಕೃಷ್ಣನ್, ಎಳಗೋವನ್‌, ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್‌ ಅವರು ಭಾಗವಹಿಸಿದ್ದರು.

10 ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರ: ಬಿಡಿಎ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 10 ಕ್ರೀಡಾ ಕೇಂದ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವ ಯೋಜನೆ ಇದ್ದು, ಇದನ್ನು ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅನುಷ್ಠಾನಗೊಳಿಸಬೇಕು. ಇಂದಿರಾನಗರ, ಕೆ.ಆರ್‌. ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆ, ಮಲ್ಲೇಶ್ವರ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಬಿಡಿಎ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಲ್ದರ್ಜೆಗೇರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಹೆಬ್ಬಾಳ ಜಂಕ್ಷನ್‌ ಮೇಲ್ಸೇತುವೆ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯೀಕರಣ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಆರಂಭಿಸಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಣಿವಣ್ಣನ್‌ ಸೂಚಿಸಿದರು.

ವಸತಿ ಪ್ರದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರಸ್ತೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ, ಕಂಠೀರವ ಸ್ಟೇಡಿಯಂ ಬಳಿಯ ಅಂಡರ್‌ಪಾಸ್‌ ಕಾಮಗಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವೇಗ ನೀಡಬೇಕು ಎಂದರು.

ಸದಸ್ಯ ಎಂಜಿನಿಯರ್‌ ಶಾಂತ ರಾಜಣ್ಣ ಅವರು ಉಪಸ್ಥಿತರಿದ್ದರು.
