BBMP Voting: Women dominate in 6 constituencies

BBMP 28 constituencies: 56.23 percent female; 53.87 percent claim from men

Bengaluru: Voter turnout in the city's 28 assembly constituencies was again low, down by 18.19 per cent compared to the state's 73.19. However, in six assembly constituencies, women voted more than men. Women are also ahead in overall percentage calculation.

55.12% voting in 28 constituencies of Bengaluru in the last assembly elections. This time, 55 percent voting was done. 56.23% women and 53.87% men have applied.

In the polling held in Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Shantinagar, Mahalakshmi Layout, Malleshwar, Pulakeshinagar, Yeshavantpur assembly constituencies, women have exercised their right to vote more than the number of men.

This percentage is higher in Pulakeshinagar constituency, where a total of 1,22,997 people have voted, including 57,568 males and 65,417 females. In Malleshwara, out of a total of 1,25,278 voters, 61,948 were male, 63,330 were female; In Rajarajeshwarinagar, out of 2,61,390, 1,29,853 were males, 1,31,511 were females; 78,734 males, 79,673 females out of 1,58,419 in Mahalakshmi layout; In Yeshwantpur, out of 3,56,737, 1,78,107 are male, 1,78,620 are female; In Shantinagar, out of 1,19,514, 59,397 men and 60,112 women voted.

Corporators View from BBMP to Assembly...

Eight former members of the Greater Bengaluru Mahanagara Corporation are in the fray for the Legislative Assembly elections and are eyeing seats in the Legislative Assembly.

Before the MLA elections, the corporation elections will be a forerunner, and based on the victory and experience here, they are contesting the assembly elections.

Padmanabhareddy, who has been the leader of the opposition and opposition party since 1997 as the Kacharakanahalli ward corporator, joined the BJP from the JDS when Bangalore was a city corporation. He is the BJP candidate for the second time in the Sarvajnanagar Assembly Constituency.

H. Ravindra also joined the BJP from the Congress as a senior member of the corporation. He was a corporator in Vijayanagara and was the leader of the ruling party and the opposition party. Now he is testing his luck in the assembly arena for the third time. He contested from Vijayanagar and Govindarajanagar assembly constituencies from BJP. This time he is a BJP candidate in Vijayanagar assembly constituency. Both Padmanabhareddy and Ravindra had tried hard to become mayor earlier.

C.K. Ramamurthy was the Ward Corporator of Pattabhiramanagar. Ramamurthy, who has the experience of conducting elections for Vijayakumar, who was an MLA, is now a BJP candidate in the same Jayanagar constituency. Umesh Shetty, who was the Govindarajanagar ward corporator, was an aspirant for the Vijayanagar assembly constituency. Due to the changed political situation V. Somanna is replaced by BJP candidate in Govindarajanagar constituency.

Keshavamurthy of Congress held many posts as a corporator. He wanted to contest in Rajajinagar constituency and Congress party has fielded him in Mahalakshmi layout constituency. Congress's Anand Kumar and BJP's Shivakumar, who were corporators, have tested their luck in the assembly constituencies under their own wards. N. who was corporate from Congress. Earlier, Ramalingareddy, S. Suresh Kumar, K. Gopalaya, Munirathna, Bairati Basavaraju were also members of the corporation. It is noteworthy that in the later days all of them contested the assembly elections and became ministers as MLAs.
