Bengaluru: The final notification for ward reservations across the five city corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) was issued late Saturday night. However, the mandatory 50% reservation for women, as stipulated by the Greater Bengaluru Governance Act (GBGA), has not been followed.

The state government has repeatedly claimed that elections for the five city corporations will be held by the end of June, as per Supreme Court directions, without any delay. However, discrepancies in ward reservations were evident even in the draft notification. The fact that the final notification was published with the same reductions in women's seats, without any changes, has raised several suspicions.

The total number of wards across the five city corporations is 369. Fifty percent of this would be 184.5. While half a ward cannot be allotted, 184 wards could have been reserved for women. Instead, the final notification reserves only 176 wards for women. The number of wards reserved for women remains identical in both the draft and final notifications. Not just for women—the reservations for Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Backward Classes (Category A and B), and the General Category also remain unchanged from the draft.

While one might argue that a perfect 50% calculation across five different corporations is difficult, statistics show that women did not receive 50% reservation within the individual corporations either. Women’s reservation fell short by three wards in the Central City Corporation and by two wards each in the East, West, North, and South corporations. Additionally, it is alleged that the number of wards for SC/ST and Backward Classes is also lower than their prescribed quotas.

The term of the elected BBMP council ended on September 10, 2020. Since then, local leaders have been preparing under various expectations—that elections would be held for 198, 243, or 225 wards. During this period, the BBMP itself ceased to exist. The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) was formed, and five city corporations were established under it on September 2, 2025. Although it was stated that elections would be held within three months of that date, the final notification for ward reservations has only just been released.

"We had pointed out many issues in the draft reservation. We warned that the draft was contrary to the GBGA and could hinder the election process. We brought issues regarding women's reservation and other discrepancies to the attention of our leaders. However, the final notification was issued exactly like the draft, ignoring all concerns. If this goes to court, the election might be stayed. This is exactly what our leaders and MLAs want," said local leaders from both Congress and BJP.

"With the national census starting in April 2026, the corporation election process will face hurdles. Those involved in election preparations will be deployed for census work for a month and a half, halting voter list revisions. Furthermore, since the elections are being conducted based on the 2011 census, new census data will be available in six months. Holding elections based on new data would ensure justice in reservations. This can be challenged in court. For these reasons, the corporation elections still feel like a dream," said aspiring candidates from all three major parties.

Voter List Not Yet Finalized

State Election Commission officials state that the election process will be completed within a month and a half after the final voter list is published. The final list was supposed to be out in January 2026. However, the draft list was only published on January 19. Due to numerous issues, a revised draft list will be published on March 9. After verifying objections, the final list is now scheduled for April 6.

While the Commission says its work begins once the government provides the ward reservations, it has not yet published the ward-wise draft voter lists despite the reservations being finalized. These delays raise questions about whether the elections will truly be completed by the end of June.

Injustice to Women: Padmanabha Reddy

"By announcing ward reservations on the eve of International Women’s Day, the state government has snatched away the political rights of women. It has done an injustice by denying women eight seats they were legally entitled to. The Congress government, which claims to give 50% power to women as per Sonia Gandhi’s wishes, has cheated them in these five corporations," alleged Padmanabha Reddy, former BJP Leader of the Opposition in the BBMP.

He noted that Section 29(4) of the GBGA mandates 50% reservation for women across all categories. "In the previous 198 BBMP wards, 99 were reserved for women, and women even won in general wards. The government has ignored High Court guidelines and the principle of reserving wards where the female population is higher. The government has no intention of conducting elections; it is intentionally making these mistakes so the court will stay the process," he added.

ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು: ಗ್ರೇಟರ್‌ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರದ (ಜಿಇಎ) ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯ ಐದು ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳ ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳಿಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯನ್ನು ಅಂತಿಮಗೊಳಿಡಿ ಶನಿವಾರ ತಡರಾತ್ರಿ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರೇಟರ್‌ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಆಡಳಿತ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಯಂತೆ (ಜಿಬಿಜಿಎ) ಶೇ 50ರಷ್ಟನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸಲಾಗಿಲ್ಲ.

ಐದು ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯನ್ನು ಯಾವುದೇ ಕಾರಣಕ್ಕೂ ವಿಳಂಬ ಮಾಡದೆ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ಗೆ ಸೂ಼ಚನೆಯಂತೆ ಜೂನ್‌ ಅಂತ್ಯದೊಳಗೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಇದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೇಲ್ನೋಟಕ್ಕೆ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಿರುವುದು ಕರಡು ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಕಂಡು ಬಂದಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವುದೇ ಬದಲಾವಣೆ ಮಾಡದೆ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ  ಅದೇ ಕಡಿತವನ್ನು ಅಂತಿಮ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿರುವುದು ಹಲವು ಅನುಮಾನಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಗಿದೆ.

ಐದು ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳ ಒಟ್ಟು ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ 369. ಇದರಲ್ಲಿ ಶೇ 50ರಷ್ಟು ಎಂದರೆ, 184.5. ಅರ್ಧ ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ ಅನ್ನು ನೀಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ, 184 ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಿಡಬಹುದಾಗಿತ್ತು. 176 ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಿಟ್ಟು ಅಂತಿಮ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆ ಹೊರಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ವಾರು ಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯ ಕರಡು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತಿಮ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಅದೇ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳು ಮೀಸಲಾಗಿವೆ. ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯಷ್ಟೇ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ, ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪಂಗಡ, ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ವರ್ಗ ಎ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಿ, ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ವರ್ಗದ ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯೂ ಕರಡು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಂತಿಮ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಗೂ ಯಾವುದೇ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸವಿಲ್ಲ.

ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ನೀಡುವಾಗ ಐದು ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಒಟ್ಟಾರೆ ಶೇ 50ರಷ್ಟು ಲೆಕ್ಕಾಚಾರ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂಬ ವಾದವನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಬಹುದಾದರೂ,  ಆಯಾ ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಶೇ 50ರಷ್ಟು ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಅಂಕಿ–ಅಂಶಗಳೇ ಹೇಳುತ್ತವೆ. ಕೇಂದ್ರ ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂರು ಹಾಗೂ ಪೂರ್ವ, ಪಶ್ಚಿಮ, ಉತ್ತರ, ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತಲಾ ಎರಡು ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಜಾತಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಪರಿಶಿಷ್ಟ ಪಂಗಡಕ್ಕೆ ಮೀಸಲಾಗಬೇಕಾದ ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಹಿಂದುಳಿದ ವರ್ಗದಲ್ಲೂ ಅವರಿಗೆ ನಿಗದಿಯಾಗಿರುವ ಪ್ರಮಾಣದಲ್ಲೂ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗಿದೆ ಎನ್ನಲಾಗಿದೆ.

2020ರ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 10ರಂದು ಜನಪ್ರತಿನಿಧಿಗಳ ಬೃಹತ್‌ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಮಹಾನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ (ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿ) ಕೌನ್ಸಿಲ್‌ ಅವಧಿ ಮುಕ್ತಾಯಗೊಂಡಿತು. ಅಂದಿನಿಂದಲೂ, 198 ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳಿಗೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ, 243 ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳಿಗೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ, 225 ವಾರ್ಡ್‌‌ಗಳಿಗೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಮುಖಂಡರು ತಯಾರಿ ನಡೆಸುತ್ತಲೇ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಅಂತಹ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲೇ, ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿಯೇ ಅಸ್ತಿತ್ವ ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡಿತು. ಗ್ರೇಟರ್‌ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಪ್ರಾಧಿಕಾರ (ಜಿಬಿಎ) ರಚನೆಯಾಗಿ ಅದರಡಿ, ಐದು ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳು  2025ರ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್‌ 2ರಂದು ರಚನೆಯಾದವು. ಅಂದಿನಿಂದಲೂ ಮೂರು ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಇದೀಗ ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಅಂತಿಮ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆ ಹೊರಬಿದ್ದಿದೆ.

‘ಕರಡು ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಸಮಸ್ಯೆ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ನಾವೆಲ್ಲ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೆವು. ‘ಗ್ರೇಟರ್‌ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ಆಡಳಿತ ಕಾಯ್ದೆಗೆ (ಜಿಬಿಜಿಎ) ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿಯೇ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಕರಡು ಹೊರಬಂದಿದೆ. ಇದು ಚುನಾವಣೆಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಯಾಗಬಹುದು’ ಎಂಬ ಆಂತಕವನ್ನೂ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದೆವು. ಮಹಿಳಾ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಹಲವು ರೀತಿಯ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳು ಇರುವುದನ್ನು ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಯಕರ ಗಮನಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದಿದ್ದೆವು. ಆದರೆ, ಅದ್ಯಾವುದನ್ನೂ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸದೆ, ಕರಡು ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಯಂತೆಯೇ ಅಂತಿಮ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಹೊರಡಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರೆ, ಚುನಾವಣೆಗೂ ತಡೆ ಸಿಗಬಹುದು. ಇದನ್ನೇ ನಮ್ಮ ನಾಯಕರು, ಶಾಸಕರು ಬಯಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆʼ ಎಂಧೂ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್‌, ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಮುಖಂಡರು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

ʼ2026ರ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನಗಣತಿ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ, ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆಗೆ ತೊಡಕಾಗಲಿದೆ. ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯ ಸಿದ್ಧತೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವವರೇ ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್‌ನಿಂದ ಒಂದೂವರೆ ತಿಂಗಳು ಜನಗಣತಿ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಯೋಜನೆಯಾಗುವುದರಿಂದ ಮತದಾರರ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಇತರೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ಸ್ಥಗಿತವಾಗಲಿವೆ. ಇನ್ನು 2011ರ ಜನಗಣತಿಯಂತೆ ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಲಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದು, ಇನ್ನು ಆರು ತಿಂಗಳು ಕಳೆದರೆ ಹೊಸ ಜನಗಣತಿಯ ಅಂಕಿ-ಅಂಶಗಳೇ ಬರುತ್ತವೆ. ಅದರಂತೆ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಮಾಡಿದರೆ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಯಾಯ ಸಿಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇದನ್ನು ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲೂ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಬಹುದಾಗಿದೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ, ಇವೆಲ್ಲ ಕಾರಣಗಳಿಂದ ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಇನ್ನೂ ನಮಗೆಲ್ಲ ಕನಸೇʼ ಎಂದು ಕಾರ್ಪೊರೇಟರ್‌ಗಳಾಗುವ ಆಕಾಂಕ್ಷೆ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಮೂರೂ ಪಕ್ಷಗಳ ಮುಖಂಡರ ಮಾತು.

ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗದ ಮತದಾರರ ಪಟ್ಟಿ

ಐದು ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳ ಮತದಾರರ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾದ ನಂತರದ ಒಂದೂವರೆ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ಪ್ರಕ್ರಿಯೆ ಮುಗಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ರಾಜ್ಯ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 2026ರ ಜನವರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮತದಾರರ ಅಂತಿಮ ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾಗಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ, ಮತದಾರರ ಕರಡು ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಜನವರಿ 19ರಂದು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಇದರಲ್ಲೂ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಮತದಾರರ ಪರಿಷ್ಕೃತ ಕರಡು ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾರ್ಚ್‌ 9ರಂದು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಲಿದೆ. ನಂತರ, ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಪರಿಶೀಲಿಸಿ, ಅಳವಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್‌ 6ರಂದು ಮತದಾರರ ಅಂತಿಮ ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸುವುದಾಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದೆ. 

ʼವಾರ್ಡ್‌ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿಯನ್ನು ಸರ್ಕಾರ ನೀಡಿದ ಕೂಡಲೇ ನಮ್ಮ ಕೆಲಸ ಆರಂಭವಾಗುತ್ತದೆʼ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಚುನಾವಣಾ ಆಯೋಗ, ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಅಂತಿಮಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರೂ,ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳ ಮತದಾರರ ಕರಡು ಪಟ್ಟಿಯನ್ನೇ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ ಎಲ್ಲ ವಿಳಂಬಗಳಿಂದಾಗಿ ಐದು ನಗರಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳ ಚುನಾವಣೆಯ ಜೂನ್‌ ಅಂತ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಮುಗಿಯುವುದೇ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿದೆ.

ʼವಿಶ್ವ ಮಹಿಳಾ ದಿನಾಚರಣೆಯ ಹಿಂದಿನ ದಿನ ಐದು ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳ ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿರುವ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಸರ್ಕಾರ, ಮಹಿಳೆಯರ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಹಕ್ಕನ್ನು ಕಸಿದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ. ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಸಿಗಬೇಕಾದ ಎಂಟು ಸ್ಥಾನಗಳನ್ನು ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಂದ ಕಸಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಅನ್ಯಾಯ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್‌ ಅಧಿನಾಯಕಿ ಸೋನಿಯಾಗಾಂಧಿಯವರ ಆಶಯದಂತೆ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಶೇ 50ರಷ್ಟು ಅಧಿಕಾರ ನೀಡುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಕಾಂಗ್ರೆಸ್‌ ಸರ್ಕಾರ, ಐದು ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆ ವ್ಯಾಪ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ವಂಚನೆ ಮಾಡಿದೆ. ಹೇಳುವುದು ಒಂದು, ಮಾಡುವುದು ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಸಾಬೀತುಪಡಿಸಿದೆʼ ಎಂದು ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿಯ ಮಾಜಿ ಆಡಳಿತ ಪಕ್ಷದ ನಾಯಕ, ಬಿಜೆಪಿಯ ಪದ್ಮನಾಭರೆಡ್ಡಿ ದೂರಿದರು.

‘ಜಿಬಿಜಿಎಯ ಪ್ರಕರಣ 29ರ ಅಂಶ ನಾಲ್ಕರ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಎಲ್ಲ ವರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಶೇ 50ರಷ್ಟು ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಕಲ್ಪಿಸಿ, ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ ನೇರವಾಗಿ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಬೇಕು’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ಮೀರಿ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಕರಡು ಹೊರಡಿಸಲಾಗಿತ್ತು, ಅದನ್ನೇ ಅಂತಿಮ ಅಧಿಸೂಚನೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ‘ಬಿಬಿಎಂಪಿಯ 198 ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ 99ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರಿಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ಇತ್ತು. ಅಲ್ಲದೆ, ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ಗಳಲ್ಲೂ ಮಹಿಳೆಯರು ಗೆಲುವು ಸಾಧಿಸಿದ್ದರು’ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

ʼಹೈಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ ಸೂಚನೆಯನ್ನೂ ಪಾಲಿಸದೆ, ವಾರ್ಡ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಸಂಖ್ಯೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿದ್ದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮೀಸಲಾತಿ ನೀಡಬೇಕೆಂಬ ಉದ್ದೇಶವನ್ನೂ ಗಾಳಿಗೆ ತೂರಲಾಗಿದೆ. ನಗರ ಪಾಲಿಕೆಗಳ ಚುನಾವಣೆ ನಡೆಸಲು ಸರ್ಕಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಇಚ್ಛೆ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ, ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಡೆಯಾಗಲಿ ಎಂದೇ ಇಂತಹ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಉದ್ದೇಶಪೂರ್ವಕವಾಗಿದೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದೆʼ ಎಂದರು.
